Sit and Go King!!

Just shows you what I know about football. Narrow win for United. After that performance, narrow chance that Ferdinand and Neville will play in the enxt England game.

Anyway, decided to have a Sit and Go session, as I've only played one in the last few weeks (and spectacularly knocked 7 players out and crippled another before winning!). My return showed an instant profit as I won my first, came 2nd in 2 on the run and won the 4th. Feeling supremely confident, I signed up to a 5$, 3 table 30 player SNG and took that down for a 70$ prize.

I just wish my cash game would mirror this after another night of more swings than the biggest collection of swings in the world. The biggest hand was holding 77 and seeing a flop of J J 7. 'Surely you can't lose that' I hear you cry? Managed to get a call to my huge reraise and saw the final J hit the river, costing me 50 euros. Similar thing happened about 10 hands later, but didn't commit so much to the pot, but still lost a bit. Then, this hand, probably the single most stupidist player I think I have ever seen:
Raise to 3 x bb by 1st player, i'm on the SB with K 10s and decide to call (history of player raising led me to believe low pair) and player on BB calls also.
We see a flop of K 10 2. Player on bets 3$, I re-raise to 7$ and both BB and raiser call.
Turn 7 (no flush draw possible now)
Original raiser bets 5$, i re-raise to 15$. BB calls and original raiser types in A K before folding.
River was a 2
I put SB all in and amazed for the third time to see him call.

And turn over 5 2

Yes, he turned over 5 2

I went ballistic. Could not believe that:
a) he calls pre-flop
b) he would call my flop raise cold
c) and again on the turn
d) and was rescued by one of only 2 cards in the deck

Something that you would only ever see online.

Ten minutes away from the win and all. From a spurs supporter, and my dislike of Arsenal and Chelsea - I was probably nearly as gutted as you were.

I've been saying all season I don't think United will win the premiership - I'm just glad we are putting up a bit of a fight this year, as we haven't for the last 2 seasons.
It will be close, though, if Chelsea's form continues. I know United have bought high-profile players in the past for big money - but even they cannot compare to the 'players at any cost' mentality that prevails at Chelsea. Most of them will be farmed out to lower premiership clubs for a fracion fo the cost (like Wright-Phillips) and just inflates costs for other clubs.

Enough ranting.

Nice work on the sng's.They make a nice diversion from the cash game grind.I'm not sure there's decent money to be made unless multi-tabling at a least $15+ though.Hopefully catch you on the IM soon for a game...
