Stag Do's and Other Stuff

Firstly, not sure what has happened to my last post. Wrote and posted it last week, and then haven't been online since and switched on last night to find it had been removed. Very strange and have asked blogger to investigate. Thanks to those that read and left their comments, it's always reassuring to read them.

Things weren't going so well at the time of writing, and it's never a good time to write when at the peak of your frustration, however, these pages are intended to portray things you feel as well as things you do, even if those feelings change so regularly. I see it written that no one wants to read about bad beats, which I partly agree with, but blogs are supposed to convey your feelings and bad beats are all part of those, therefore shouldn't neccessarily be ignored. Anyway, I was getting some on and off the table and the straw had definately broken the camels back when I posted.

Things have changed a little since I last wrote, and it appears Cathy wasn't being herself and when we sat down to talk, it came to light that she had found a lump and was getting very worried about it, till she had reached snapping point. No call to the doctor, no second opinion, just the inevitable consequence that she has breast cancer.
After eventually calming her down and pointing out the several dozen other things it could be - and that without a Doctor, how the hell were we to know either way, she calmed down and she was at the doctors 48 hours later. The Doc is fairly sure it is a cist, but is sending her for a scan to be on the safe side. That is a week tomorrow, but she seems a little more comfortable now things are out in the open. Fingers crossed, and this has brought many things into perspective.

----------------------------------------

Spent the weekend in Edinburgh (hence missing the blog tourny, which I would otherise have loved to have played in) on a friends stag do. The usual stuff happened, drink, late nights, silly games and (for some, but not me) lap dancing bars.
The groom had treated himself to a brand new Armani shirt which he wore on the Saturday night and was dragged by 6 of the guys to a lap dancing bar. They set him up with a couple of dancers, who teased and tormented him for several minutes, stripping him to the boxers and whilst thrusting her private parts into his face, the other girl wrote their names in lipstick on the back of his shirt along with 'I Love Cock'. Try explaining this to the missus when you get home!

I had an very strange conversation with the chap who was enthusing about lap dancing bars (he was married, there were no single blokes of the 20 attending). We were sat in a very lively bar at the time, with a live band on doing Irish stuff. The dance floor was full of young ladies with very little on, dancing and writhing to the music, partly drink fuelled, partly because they were enjoying themselves. I asked this chap why he would pay £20 to get in, £20 for every dance, and then 3 times the usual drink prices at a lap dancing place - when it is all in front of you now for free (and probably more sexy if you ask me). Ahhhh, he replied, you can do more with them afterwards if you pay a little.
Ahhh, I replied, if your chat up lines are good enough, there are probably girls here that will want to do it for free, rather than because you are paying them. He just couldn't grasp my point, maybe he had little confidence in himself and lap dancers made him feel more of a man. Very strange conversation and very soon after he left for a lap dancing club on his own.
I'm not for a minute suggesting that all these girls were out for a shag, but a proportion were, as we saw later in the evning.
The 2 nights were very enjoyable, a very good laugh without anyone going too far, and Edinburgh was full of Hen Weekends also, which made for a great atmosphere everywhere we went. Highly recomended for a lads weekend away.

Anyway, I'm off to work in the garden with Mia's help. The sun is shining nice and warm and its time for a different kind of silly dancing!

Fingers crossed the lump is a cyst. They mostly are from what I've read and then hopefully some normality can be restored.

BTW I love Edinburgh, been a few times now and I find it harder to leave each time.
