Ladies Needed

There I was, bragging about my jetsetting and it all came down to earth with a bump.
My trip to Bristol has been cancelled.
Before you start writing your words of consolation and heartfelt sorrow for me, worry not readers, it has simply been delayed by a week or two. Instead, I have a trip to Wakefield to look forward to on Friday.

There was, however, some great news for me today, that more than made up for the Bristol dissappointment. My request for more staff has been approved, and I have the OK to recruit 4 more.

You know what this means?

More attractive young ladies that have to sit in my office and impress me for an hour in an effort to get a job working for me! Little do they know the talents they will need to get the job.

It's a hard life sometimes.

PS - Poker, average.

Jetsetting!

Been away for another couple of days, this time down to our head office in Taunton, which is a helluva drive from most places in the UK, especially Manchester. Still, nice to meet all the directors and senior managers and see the way they do things. Wednesday, I head off to Bristol to meet some clients (I'll wave, Rosie) so I'm certainly racking up some miles these last few weeks.
Things are going really well in the job, I've managed to increase efficiency in the office by 25% in October, and got rid of some of our deadwood without too much effort, so looking forward to getting my teeth into some of the mid and long term projects I have set.

Life on the tables has been going great also, and the first week to this new month has seen a positive start, following on from a good October. Bizarrely, I think the less time I am spending at the tables is having a positive effect on my play. I didn't play for 3 nights last week, and 4 the previous, so a big reduction on my normal hours. Maybe the re-focusing is good, and I don't seem to feel as tired.

Decided to re-start a bit of bonus whoring so have emptied my Laddies, CD and Bodog accounts and taken advantage of a seemingly easy 50$ at Sun Poker.
And, being on the same platform as Inter, where I had a good SNG record, I have decided to revisit a couple of SNG's a night and see if I can re-discover the magic. It's been several months since I last played a SNG, so was delighted to win my first 5£ and place 2nd in a 3£. Add this to a nice few hands on a cash table, and a 58$ profit for the night saw me happy at close of play a few minutes ago.
Can't remember too many specific hands, but I'm trying to play a bit more aggressively. I must be an easy player to read, as I play the strong hands strongly and fold the crap (mostly!), though this led to me getting some grief from an opponent. I was on the SB with 72 (it was suited, this still the hammer?) and with one caller and the BB, I decided to raise it up to 6 x bb. Both called and saw a flop of KK4 and a flush draw for me. The BB had AK and was not best pleased when my flush hit the turn and he didn;t raise the flop.
He called me a clown and wasn't having it when I told him you gotta mix up your game sometimes :-)

In one of my last sessions at Laddies, played with Kronsdat, one of the few bloggers I don't remember playing with before, so was nice to chat, and I wish him luck with his personal challenge before Xmas! Always good to spend a bit of poker winnings on the missus - keep her on side etc when you're playing them late nights :-)

Good luck all.
