Sitting and Going
Hello readers, thanks for coming back - may I start with a little story I heard on the radio, driving down to Taunton at 6am this morning?
Basically, there is a guy on death row on Texas and he has been scheduled in for executuon 16 years after being convicted of a double murder. He has been allowed to set up a website asking for people to leave a joke that he can tell when asked for his final words before receiving his lethal injection. He will review what is posted, and use the one he considers the best at the appropiate moment. Very bizarre, actually surprising that he was allowed to do it in the first place, to be honest.
Being stuck in the car, on my own for nearly 4 hours on the drive down, I got to thinking of some. Then I thought of something even better. What if they would allow you to sing a song instead of 'final words'?
I thought for ages before deciding on:
234,507,908 green bottles hanging on a wall
234,507,908 green botles hangin ona wall
and if 1 green bottle should accidentally fall
there'd be 234,507,907 green bottles hanging on a wall
All together now........
Sorry, back to poker.
Joker Stars has been a huge upward turn with me winning 5 SNG on the run as I headed into the Blogger Tourny. Feeling confident, or a little too over confident as it turned out, I was going pretty well until my nemesis Amatay busted my JJ with his 10 10, hitting another on the river. (Was going to post the history - but does handposter.com ever work?)
Still had enough chips to make an impact, and then played a hand horribly, which resulted in my elimination. Don't want to talk about it, I played it badly, and it was totally out of character from the way I have been playing. Why do we do these things?
Well done to dD/Res Evil for taking it down, I like to think that the few SNG's Mik and I made him play the night before gave him some well needed practise and experience. Please dD, no thanks or offers of monetary reward - your friendship is enough!! Seriously though, well played.
Anyway, other than the Blogger game (it was great to see a lot of new-comers as well as the familiar faces), I am running very well right now. So well that I broke my promise of not playing cash for the rest of the month. I'm glad I did, as I added 50$ to my roll at Joker Stars, before sensibly deciding to bank my profits and not get too greedy.
So, Joker Stars (I am now 3rd on Google for this phrase!!) now stands at 160$ before tonights play, and Virgin at 295$ - a total profit of almost $300. Amazing turn of fortunes, long may it continue.
Anway, stuck in a hotel room in Taunton on my own, with Rocky 3 the only thing on the TV so firing up Joker Stars as I type. Helps pass the time!
