I sit here on my couch at 11.25am on a cold Sunday morning. Mia is still fast asleep. Normal bedtime last night, but sometimes kids need to catch up too. I've been in and checked, and she is a) still there and not escaped and b) breathing. Well, she was snoring actually, so maybe a cold is on the way.
A pretty bad night at the tables, and I'm actually stunned at some of the things I saw last night. My search for a new bonus took me to Royal Vegas Poker and I signed up with 200$ of my hard earnd winnings on Friday night. I played about 300 hands on Friday and was amazed to see 3 flopped quads and 2 more four of a kinds on the river. I wasn't involved in any of those hands, but 5 in 300 hands is a bit strange.
Logged on Saturday night and played on 143 hands.
Dealt AA and raised to 10 x bb (very loose table) and got one caller. Flop of 33x and he called me to the river before showing 33. ON buy in gne.
9 hands later dealt QQ and raise 10 x bb - same guy re-raises me so I call and see flop of JJQ - I move all in, he calls and shows pocket Jacks. Anopther buy in gone.
12 hands later get KK and called by 77 on a flop of 77x - different player this time, but another buy in gone.
Then, checking a BB with 89, I see a flop of 10JQ and move all in. Player calls and shows QQ. Guess the turn? Yep, another Q and nother buy in gone.
Somewhat concerned that something very dodgyu was going on. I see quads quite a lot online, something I've commented on in the past - but 9 quads in less than 450 hands was a little extreme, even by online standards. The odds of flopping quads if you hold pockets is 16,000 to one according to my calculator.
Anyway, not a great deal I can do other than a) Email the poker site to investigate, which I have done and b) not play at their site again, which I will also do. They have accepted tht the run of hands was extreme, but promised to look into it and let me know.
Anyway, other than this 200$ loss, things are going well, and should show a small profit in November unless the above is the beginnings of a bad run.
Looking forward to the Man U v Chelsea game later today - got some friends coming round, so hopefully Mia will still be asleep and we can watch in peace!! Uh oh, I spoke o soon, I can hear her singing - best go and feed her.
Good luck all!
